Golden Visa - EU Residency in Greece
With an investment of a minimum of EUR 250,000 into real estate, non-EU citizens may apply for the Golden Visa of Greece. With a Golden Visa, an applicant benefits from the status of being a EU-resident, being able to travel freely within the European Union and the Schengen-states.
Whereas in general the residency permit does not allow the applicant to work, the investor may, however, establish a business in Greece. Taxes only apply for income within Greece, for either income from employment, business or rentals. Additional taxes at a rate of 24% may apply at the time of investment but may be avoided depending on the real estate the amount of EUR 250,000 is invested to.
